Abstract: WHILST MOST OF THE TOOLS required for corrosion management already exist, it is their actual implementation that seems to be a challenge. We argue that management of pipelines’ integrity should involve synergistic incorporation of corrosion- risk assessments, corrosion-growth assessment, fitness-for-purpose studies, and overarching corrosion-control strategies. This approach can deliver a clear, realistic, and representative picture of pipeline operational integrity in a cost-effective way. In addition, we also emphasize the importance of visualization tools, which can assist operators with a dynamic visualization of their assets’ integrity, corrosion risks, status of the key integrity-management activities, and assist with integrity decision-making.
